    Mrs. Frances Hodgson Burnett (author of the classic children's novel The Secret Garden), Manhasset, Plandome, Long Island, New York;
    By descent from the above to Mrs. Verity Burnett Chisholm, Minneapolis, Minnesota;
    By descent to the above to Mrs. Penelope Chisholm Deupree, Irving, Texas.


    Condition Report*: Oil painting:  surface in very good condition; under UV examination, minor in-painting along top edge and possible strengthening along top edge of ship's hull and in teal waves (certain pigments in these areas fluoresce, yet they are consistent with brushwork).  Watercolor:  very minor accretions in background; signed lower right; 9.5 x 15.5" (window); 14.25 x 19.25" (frame); not examined outside of frame.Framed Dimensions 33.25 X 50 Inches
