    JOHN WILLIAM ORTH (American 1889-1976)
    Still Life: Vase with Chrysanthemums

    A German-born painter active in California, John Orth studied at the Nuremberg College of Fine Arts, Academie Julian in Paris, and the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. He is known as a skillful painter of figures and still lifes, particularly flower pieces. This original canvas is unlined and in very good condition.
