    TWO HOHOKAM RED-ON-WHITE POTTERY ITEMS
    c. 200 B.C. - 1450 A.D.

    the first, a bowl, decorated on the interior with broad bands enclosing "fringed" spirals, alternating with narrow serrated bands; the second, a mortar or paint bowl, decorated on the exterior with a chain of linked diamonds circumscribing the body, a zigzag band on the rim

    Diameters: the first, 11 ¾ inches; the second, 4 ½ inches


    Condition Report*:

    The bowl, in overall fragile condition.  Cracked overall and reassembled with glue.  Loss along the seams.  Otherwise surface with wear affecting the painted design and soiling.  The mortar or paint bowl, in fair condtion.  Approx. two cracks apparent in the basin.  Two large chips on the rim.  One superficial crack on the rim.  Two chips to the bottom edge.   One gash on the body.  Surface with wear, including moderate soiling.  Two stickers affixed to the bottom.
