6½" Tall x 4¼" Deep
The ornately crafted figure kneels with a large metate leaning between the ground and against her waist, she holds a wide mano and grinds a patty of maize. Clinging to her back is a young child with arms over the shoulders, face pressed against her back, and uses one foot on her waist belt for support. She wears an elaborate spiked headdress with tassels, a striped skirt, her arms and the child with a yellow smooth slip, and tattoo details across the face and arms. The figure is in excellent condition with strong ancient growths.
