    Condition Report*:

    In overall good condition.  One crack, approx. 1½ inches, descending from the rim, with adjacent cracks -- one approx. 2¼ inches in length and the other, a hairline crack, approx. 2½ inches in length.  One area of apparent restoration -- ½ inch on the exterior and one inch on the interior -- visible in the catalog photograph (on the bird's middle tail feather).  One shallow chip, approx. ½ inch in length, on the rim.  Surface with a yellow substance (varnish?) which is flakey.  Otherwise, surface with minor loss, some abrasions, discoloration, and crazing.  Two postage stamps affixed to the base with Scotch tape.
