c. 1884 Apache Woman, by A. Frank Randall, Willcox, Arizona Territory. c. 1884. Albumen cabinet card.
In this rare image, the lady wears a cotton blouse together with a traditional leather skirt profusely hung with tin cone tinklers, and leather boot-moccasins. She is attractively posed with a Navajo blanket, unusually ornate for the period. The celluloid rings seen along the upper margin indicate the blanket did not belong to her, but was provided by the photographer, a prop lately doing service as a curtain in the studio.
