DescriptionTHREE FLYING ANTS IN AMBER
Amber has been prized since at least Neolithic times for its delicate golden beauty, but among collectors the most sought-after specimens are those that contain once-living creatures caught in the sticky ooze of 30 million year-old tree resin. This is a great example, containing no less than three flying ants, perfectly preserved down to the tiniest detail of their delicate wings in a lovely soft yellow polished amber cabochon, 1 x ¾ x ½ inches.
