This massive golden piece of fossilized tree resin, known as Amber, has smooth polished faces as well as contrasting "rough" edges. The rustic and rugged specimen is thick and clear, featuring one incredible grouped inclusion - an entire swarm of flies. Numerous unidentified members of Order Diptera populate the interior of this hardened suspension, which has not only captured a creature, or more accurately, numerous ones, but rather a behavior still observed today in modern varieties. Weighing 75 grams, this is a quite sizable offering and represents a prehistoric diorama of sorts of activity dating back millions of years that looks like it just occurred - or could - in any yard or park.
