Representing the "E" in the HED clan of achondrite meteorites, this specimen of NWA 8583 is an Eucrite of the polymict breccia variety. A "lively" end cut showing both a cratered exterior and a polished 'window' face, this specimen, weighing 110 grams, packs a real punch, for a relatively small example. Cut and polished eucrites will often resemble lunar breccia, making them even more collectible. This piece has a broad surface with a nice finish other than some rather minor imperfections in the polish. Larger and mysterious clasts contrast well with its dark background. The dimensional rock shows a slight "boomerang" shape, as well as a sloping nature to its form. Very well prepared, this meteorite end cut is ready to take a prominent spot in any display case.
