    A Pair of Nineteenth Century Italian Nubian Figures

    Unknown maker, Italy
    Nineteenth Century
    Polychrome over plaster, gilded metal
    Unmarked
    48.25 inches tall (figures); 84 inches (total)

    Beautiful and unusual semi-nude figures with gilt drapery supported on a half-sphere standing on tapering gilded plinth, both draped with a tented metal curtain surmounted with four candleholders.

    Condition Report*: Cracking to base of one figure, chipping to base of the other.
