A. D. Greer led a colorful life as a painter, commercial artist, muralist, boxer, steeplejack, lumberjack, and miner. He is well known across Texas and the United States for keeping alive the Texas landscape painting tradition.

This is a majestic Texas Hill Country landscape. Greer's masterful use of atmospheric effects, light, and shadow are apparent in this painting.
