This colossal "Gem" Ammonite should really be named "Big Red" as this enormous Placenticeras meeki is all about size and color. Extremely large and heavy, this massive fossil is collectible to be sure but also offers a huge decorative appeal as this is a statement piece for any environment. Measuring 26 inches (66 cm) across, this example is also thick and solid resulting in a very hefty fossil. This giant is visually appealing on both sides, and the entire exterior of this piece is covered in color, and that color is RED.
