AN EVENING WITH GEOFF NOTKIN METEORITES: Where They Come From, How We Find Them and Why They Enthrall Us

Geoff Notkin

Internationally known as the popular host of television's Meteorite Men and STEM Journals, Geoff Notkin is also an author, adventurer, film producer, TEDx speaker, Edinburgh Fringe Festival performer, visual artist, and two-time Emmy winner. His free-spirited attitude and willingness to tackle challenges head-on have led him on a thrilling quest of exploration, discovery, and television stardom.

A member of the exclusive Explorers Club, Notkin's travels have taken him to more than fifty countries and across the Arctic Circle three times. Asteroid 132904 was officially named "Notkin" by the Minor Planet Center in recognition of his contributions to science, education, and the arts. He has written four books and hundreds of published articles on science, adventure travel, history and the visual arts.

As President of the National Space Society, Notkin is an ardent spaceflight advocate who has presented at major space and science conferences. In 2016, he moderated a panel of legendary Apollo astronauts at a standing-room-only event in Arizona. Notkin has also shared the stage with Colonel Buzz Aldrin, Commander Jim Lovell, Story Musgrave, Jim Clash, Elon Musk, Neil Gaiman, Amanda Palmer, Dr. Brian May, Bill Nye, and many other luminaries in the arts and sciences. He sits on the Board of Governors of the National Space Society, the Board of Directors of the Astrosociology Research Institute, and the Advisory Board of Deep Space Industries.

A book signing will follow the lecture.
