Nuggets of Gold to Pieces of Mars Spotlight Natural History Auction at Heritage

Fossils and rare mineral specimens on offer

Raw Alaska Gold Nugget Heritage Auctions
DALLAS, Texas (November 9, 2020) — Heritage Auctions' Nature & Science Signature Auction is online and open for bidding, presenting collectors a classic assortment of "nature's fine art” covering categories ranging from fossils, meteorites, minerals, gemstones and Lapidary Arts. The auction closes Nov. 10 on HA.com.

"From intriguing Dinosaur Bones to colorful slabs of Petrified Wood, from quite collectible and rare Meteorite varieties to vibrant Fine Mineral specimens of exquisite form, this assortment offers a myriad of wonderful items of top quality,” said Craig Kissick, Director of Natural History at Heritage Auctions. "With a range of sizes and values, there is truly something for everyone in this sale, whether seasoned collector or simply enthusiastic novice.”

Rare gold nuggets and pure gold specimens in native matrix are catching bidders' eyes, with a quintessential Alaskan nugget (estimate: $25,000-35,000). weighing an astounding 12.42 troy ounces already surpassing $52,000. A gold in quartz specimen discovered in Mohave County, Arizona (estimate $40,000-$60,000), a region is famed for producing some of the best Gold examples out of the state. The mountainous specimen features a matrix of millky white Quartz "painted" with leafy staked Gold veins.

Leading a selection of meteorite specimens is a well-known Gibeon Meteorite discovered in 1836 in Great Nama Land, Namibia, Africa (estimate: $25,000-35,000). An unbelievably aesthetic specimen for a massive Iron Meteorite, this gorgeous Gibeon offers anything and everything that could be desired in a collectible specimen of the iconic variety. Weighing a notable 11.7 kilograms, this naturally artistic form from space is sublime with a superlative flame-like shape, an impressive texture in terms of color and huge "scoops" characteristic of the coveted Gibeon material.

An unbelievable collector grade end cut of the Sericho Meteorite (estimate: $30,000-50,000) was found in Kenya in 2016.

Additional offerings in this auction speak for themselves and are highlighted in captivating photos, videos and comprehensive descriptions.

Amber pieces with unusual insect inclusions, artisanal boxes made of exotic minerals and some of the most pristine fossil shark teeth likely to have come to auction are just several of the varieties represented in this online auction.
