Heritage Auctions’ Art Glass Auction Near 100 Percent Sold

Market for Lalique particularly strong as sale total beats high estimate

DALLAS, Texas (May 28, 2019) — Only four lots went unsold from a selection of more than 400 lots by Lalique, Tiffany, Steuben, Loetz, Daum, Galle and additional fine art glass in Heritage Auctions' May 14 Tiffany, Lalique & Art Glass including Art Deco & Art Nouveau event.

"We were thrilled with the high sell-through and high results," said Nick Dawes, Senior Vice President or Special Collections, Heritage New York. "The sale total exceeded the auction high estimate.

"The market seems strong for Lalique, which was 100 percent sold, as was the extraordinary collection of Loetz from an estate," Dawes said.

Highlights included a beautiful example of the Rene Lalique Bacchantes vase in opalescent glass, with rare original bronze base, which took $27,500. An equally beautiful opalescent Torterelles vase at $12,500, a Tiffany Turtleback table lamp at $21,875 and a Loetz Titania vase at $17,500, were among the many Loetz lots to exceed estimates.
