Charles Schulz - Snoopy and Frieda Illustration Original Art
Gifted to Shirley Temple Black stating "We girls with naturally curly hair have to stick together" and "Oh brother" the reply from Snoopy the lovably sidekick to the Charlie Brown gang. Inscribed personally at the bottom "For Shirley Temple with every best wish - Frieda, Snoopy and Charles Schulz"
Drawing measures 13-3/4 inches high x 10-3/4 inches wide.
Charles Schulz
[1922-2000], best-known as the writer and artist of the comic strip Peanuts, is considered by many to be one of the most successful and influential American cartoonists of all time. Schulz drew upon his own childhood awkwardness to inspire the strip's characters, namely the gang's most likeable loser, Charlie Brown, and his silent sidekick, a dog named Snoopy. After many false starts and then finally a little success, Schulz decided to sell Peanuts to United Features in 1950, which turned out to be the smartest career move he ever made. Peanuts quickly became the most widely read comic strip in the country, published daily in over 2,000 newspapers, and the cast of characters became household names for decades.
