Late 18th century
In Queen Anne style, the elm frame features shell-carved crest rail and splat, shepard's crook arm rests, gracious slip seat with shaped front, shell-carved seat frieze, and four cabriole legs joined by fancy 'H' stretcher, original upholstery remains intact under the newer upholstery added by the Sheraton Co., the underside of the upholstered seat with paper label indicating that the chair was 'remade' on 10-10-60 by The Sheraton Co.

Provenance: The chair originally belonged to one of the founding families of the Chase Manhattan Bank and was passed down to the grand daughter (now deceased) before being acquired by the present owner
