Heritage Galleries to Present a Spectacular Auction of Decorative Arts

DALLAS, TEXAS: Heritage Galleries & Auctioneers (HG&A) will present its latest Decorative Arts auction on December 10, 2005, in their Dallas offices.

"This is an important auction featuring Silver, Art Glass, Furniture and Fine Jewelry," said Kevin Chapman, Director of Decorative Arts for HG&A, "which showcases some truly wonderful pieces."

"Tiffany collectors have a plethora of items to chose from," said Chapman, "ranging from a lovely glass and bronze lamp displaying a Geometric glass domed shade with Turtleback tile border on a bronze base in a mottled brown/green patina, to a silver tea set which includes a hot water kettle and stand, coffee pot, teapot, creamer, lidded sugar, waste bowl, and tray, designed by Charles C. Cook, to a lovely 'Tel El Armana' glass vase of bulbous form in a red iridescent ground, with black applied collar decoration to the neck and rim, and magenta and gold highlights. For the Tiffany collector, this selection couldn't be better."

"Silver is always a popular area of collecting," said Chapman, "and we're proud to include some spectacular pieces in this auction, including an American cream and sugar set by Baltimore's S. Kirk and Son, a late nineteenth century chocolate pot by James R. Armiger, and a mid-nineteenth century American pitcher made by George B. Sharp of Philadelphia."

"We're also spotlighting a wonderful collection of fine furniture," Chapman said, "such as a French Marquetry Writing Desk by Emil Galle made of Burled Elm Wood and a French Mahogany Table by Louis Majorelle." "Fine jewelry is also given its due in this auction," Chapman added. "There is a lovely selection of gold, emerald, diamond, ruby and tanzanite pieces, including an absolutely stunning Ladies 18K Yellow Gold Solitaire With Square Step Cut Emerald ring and a South Sea 17 Inch Pearl Strand with 18K Diamond Pavé Clasp necklace that is just breathtaking."

"Another fascinating area that this auction brings to light is the field of fine wristwatches," Chapman said. "We have a marvelous assortment, including a Gent's Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Chronographe Retrograde 18K rose gold Wrist Watch, and a Gent's Rolex Bubbleback 14K Gold Wrist Watch, circa 1945."

"This auction will be talked about for some time to come, so I'd urge collectors to look very carefully at what's being offered," Chapman said. "This is an event not to be missed, and I'm looking forward to the fierce bidding that I know many of these pieces will inspire."
