Heritage Galleries Seeks Consignments for September Decorative Arts Auction.

Dallas, TX: Heritage Galleries & Auctioneers (HGA) is actively seeking consignments for their upcoming Decorative Arts auction, to be held September 17, 2005 in Dallas, Texas.

"This is shaping up to be an exciting event," said Bryan Abbott, Consignment Director for HGA. "Building on the success of our past Decorative Arts auctions, we've managed to acquire some magnificent pieces for our next auction, including an American silver Eglantine-pattern soup tureen from Gorham, ca. 1893, which belonged to Gertrude Rhinelander Waldo, whose mansion, a five-story French Renaissance Revival palace completed in 1898, at the corner of Madison Avenue and Seventy-second Street, is now the flagship store of Ralph Lauren. According to Samuel Hough, a leading Gorham researcher, the tureen itself was apparently created for, and exhibited in, the Chicago World's Fair of 1893."

"Additionally," continued Abbott, "we're offering a stunning forty piece American silver Japanese pattern forks & spoons set from Tiffany & Co., ca. 1871. This is a lovely set, believed to be custom-ordered, that any collector would be proud to own."

"Also included in this auction," Abbott added, "is an important Thomas Webb 9" Cameo glass vase by George Woodall. In fact, the identical vase is illustrated in a Woodall photographic plate on page 165 of the Ray and Lee Grover English Cameo Glass book. This is an exceptional piece, and one that I'm proud to be able to offer."

"We're still looking for consignments to offer alongside these spectacular pieces," said Abbott, "and I'd invite anyone who is interested in auctioning their collection of fine silver, art glass, or decorative arts to contact me directly at 1-800-872-6467, ext. 320, or email me at Bryan@HeritageGalleries.com today, so we can get the ball rolling. It's true that the earliest consignments benefit from the most pre-sale publicity, so I'd encourage collectors to contact me without delay."
