Spectacular Decorative Arts Collection to be Offered by Heritage Galleries
Dallas, Texas: Heritage Galleries & Auctioneers (HGA) will present its latest Decorative Arts auction on March 20, 2005, in their Dallas offices.
"This is an exciting sale for anyone interested in Art glass, silver, or bronze objets d'art," said Bryan Abbott, Consignment Director for HGA. "The centerpiece of this sale is the collection of long-time dealer/collector Dot Talbert, including an exquisite Tiffany Studios floral paperweight vase, with internally-applied glass to create its beautiful narcissus design, and a Thomas Webb & Sons cased, overlaid and etched gem cameo vase. We're deeply honored that Ms. Talbert chose us to auction her outstanding collection, and we're looking forward to bringing these exceptional items to the collecting public."
"As for other sale highlights," Abbott continued, "I'd have to include the carved rock crystal vase by Thomas Webb & Sons, carved from a single piece of purest crystal, deeply carved to depict undulating waves in the ocean and fish and shells. Rock crystal pieces of this quality are rarely offered, and this is certainly the best example that we have encountered."
Abbott added, "We are also very fortunate to have in this auction a significant collection of pieces of a very special porcelain pattern, "Flora Danica", by the famous Danish maker, Royal Copenhagen. A stunning example of this pattern is the large tureen on an underplate, just one of many pieces of this highly-collectible porcelain dinnerware, each with a unique floral depiction with the genus and species on the reverse."
