Famous American Illustrators Return to Heritage

Dallas, Texas: Heritage Galleries & Auctioneers (HGA) will present an auction featuring original works by some of the nation's top illustrators on March 4, 2005 in their Dallas, Texas offices.

"This is always an exciting auction for us," said Ed Jaster, Director of Acquisitions for HGA. "The tradition of American illustration art is incredibly rich, and spans such diverse fields as advertising art, original paperback and magazine covers, and even original movie poster art. There's something here for everyone, no matter what their collecting tastes."

"I'm particularly excited about the incredible assortment of paperback cover art we've put together for this auction," said Jaster. "This is an area of original art collecting that's been long overlooked, and I think it's poised to really take off over the next few years. There are some great examples in this sale by artists like Danny Crouse, Stan Galli and Carl Hantman, any of which would make a great starting point for someone new to the field, or a worthy addition to an existing collection."

"Additionally," Jaster continued, "we're featuring art by some of the greatest illustrators of the 20TM century, including Gil Elvgren, J.C. Leyendecker, Earl MacPherson, and Alberto Vargas. These are artists that have developed devoted followings throughout the years, and we're honored to be able to present these treasures to collectors worldwide."
