Campo del Cielo Meteorite PendantIron, IAB-MG
Chaco, Argentina
Found: 1576
1.52 x 0.58 x 0.22 inches (3.86 x 1.48 x 0.55 cm)
This pendant showcases an excellent fragment of the Campo del Cielo Meteorite, part of a massive Iron meteorite fall that struck northern Argentina over 4,000 years ago. The specimen retains the original regmaglypted surface-those distinctive thumbprint-like indentations created during the fiery descent through Earth's atmosphere. Suspended from a simple loop, the irregular metallic form speaks to its extraterrestrial origin and impact history. Composed primarily of Iron and Nickel, Campo del Cielo material is among the most widely studied and collected of all Iron meteorites.
Estimate: $300 - up.
