Description

Sikhote-Alin Meteorite "Shrapnel" Pendant
Iron, IIAB
Maritime Territory, Siberia, Russia - (46°09'36"N, 134° 39'12"E)
Witnessed Fall: February 12, 1947, 10:30 am local time
1.50 x 0.74 x 0.36 inches (3.80 x 1.87 x 0.92 cm)

This pendant features a naturally sculpted fragment of the Sikhote-Alin Iron Meteorite, collected from the famous 1947 witnessed fall in eastern Russia. The specimen exhibits classic "shrapnel" texture, with torn, twisted surfaces formed by mid-air fragmentation during its fiery descent. Retaining its natural shape and metallic luster, the piece has been fitted with a simple loop for easy wear. No two fragments are alike, making this a truly one-of-a-kind piece of extraterrestrial history. This is a rugged and authentic meteorite pendant with a direct link to one of the 20th Century's most dramatic falls.

Estimate: $400 - up.
