Sikhote-Alin Meteorite "Shrapnel" is a remarkable example of an Iron meteorite known for its highly sculptural form and fascinating history. In 1947, near the Sikhote-Alin Mountains in Russia, 23 tons of this extraordinary material were observed entering the Earth's atmosphere before the dramatic fireball crashed into Earth. As a result of the violent event, most such meteorite specimens exhibit twisted and torn forms with sharp edges, and this particular example is no exception. With a substantial weight of 85.36 grams, this lovely meteorite would captivate both historical and aesthetic collectors alike.
