Minerals that contain the element of uranium just have that shockingly electric color to them. This Autunite has a rich chartreuse color with fine thin blades stacked together to form bowtie style structures. It is so thick and prolific in certain areas that it almost has a rough rosette form. Sitting on a matrix of contrasting massive white Quartz, the gorgeous Autunite's intense coloration has a dramatic visual impact along with a wonderful textural composition. This piece comes with a custom acrylic base.
From the collection of Daniel "Dan" R. Kennedy.
More Information: The piece is in excellent condition. This is a uranium-bearing mineral that exhibits moderate natural radioactivity. It should be handled with care. Avoid ingestion, wash hands after handling, and store in a sealed container to minimize the spread of particulate material.
