Description

Agate Bowl
Artist: Hans Hartman
Idar-Oberstein, Germany

Carved from a single piece of Brazilian Agate, this finely executed bowl is deeply hollowed yet retains its natural boulder edges along the rim. The translucent brown tones display delicate dendritic inclusions, and the walls are skillfully thinned to allow light to pass through. Hans Hartman, a noted Idar-Oberstein lapidary, is celebrated for his mastery in hollow-form carving and his ability to balance natural material integrity with elegant design. This bowl exemplifies his precise craftsmanship and refined aesthetic.
Measurements: 10.25 x 3.00 inches (26.03 x 7.62 cm)

Provenance: Property of a Distinguished Southern California Collector, Ex. Gerard L. Cafesjian Collection
