An exceptional fossil assemblage featuring a well-preserved stingray (Heliobatis radians) accompanied by three fossil fish (Knightia eocaena), all preserved in fine-grained Limestone from the Eocene Green River Formation of Wyoming. The stingray measures 17 inches (43 cm) in length, with a disc width of 9 inches (23 cm), displaying excellent definition of the fins, tail, and body outline. The associated Knightia specimens provide additional context, evoking the diversity of life that once inhabited this ancient freshwater lake system. A visually balanced and scientifically significant specimen, showcasing the exquisite preservation and compositional harmony for which the Green River Formation is world-renowned.
