All throughout, this specimen presents massive, terminated pillars of Schorl stretching parallel around a prominent centralized crystal, creating a stepped arrangement that is almost reminiscent of columnar basalt. Almost every side of the specimen has light etching that gives the Schorl a subtle chatoyance, rugged surface texture, and felt-like appearance; small patches of smoother crystal faces are isolated across the Schorl, each with mildly a reflective sheen. Very minor white associations (likely Albite) are isolated on the back side of the specimen. This piece comes with a custom acrylic base.
