Description
AsbestosJeffrey Mine, Val-des-Sources, Les Sources RCM, Estrie, Québec, Canada
13 x 13 x 10 cm (5.12 x 5.12 x 3.94 in)
Wrapping across this specimen are two thick bands of beautiful-formed, fibrous Asbestos crystals from the Jeffrey Mine. Each of the crystals are primarily white in color with slight tinges of grey-green and have a lustrous sheen that becomes more apparent on the denser crystal clusters. Perhaps one of the most impressive aspects of this specimen is the continued integrity of its hair-like crystals and its visually aesthetic arrangement. This piece comes with a custom acrylic base.
From the collection of Daniel "Dan" R. Kennedy.
More Information: Disclaimer: While the crystals remain in good condition, they are highly fibrous and prone to shedding. This may result in the release of airborne, respirable fibers that are considered carcinogenic. The specimen should be handled with extreme care and stored in a sealed container to minimize the risk of inhalation.
