Most Baryte specimens from Sardinia will often have more of a yellow color, but this example stands out for its attractive and somewhat less common blue hue. Sharp, tabular Baryte crystals-some reaching up to 2.9 centimeters across-densely blanket both the upper and underside of the matrix. Each crystal shows a bright glassy luster and a rich, translucent interior that enhances the blue tones.
