Draped over the entire top side of this Sphalerite plate is a dense, lustrous field of sparkling, colorless Calcite crystals. Each of the "dogtooth" Calcite crystals have a sharp scalenohedral habit and are in near-perfect condition, with the exception of a few crystals with very minor, obscure cleaves at the terminations. Most of the Sphalerite, along with a handful of associated Fluorite crystals, throughout the display are exposed beneath the field of Calcite. The Calcite moderately fluoresces and phosphoresces pink underneath UV light.
