A Belle Époque Louis XVI Revival Patinated and Gilt Bronze-Mounted Régulateur de Parquet after the model by Jean Henri Riesener, circa 189087 x 19-1/2 x 12 inches (221.0 x 49.5 x 30.5 cm)
The current work is a copy of the 1785 model by ebéniste Jean-Henri Riesener, maître en 1768, and now housed in the Musée du Louvre, collection number OA 5501. This model was highly sought after in the eighteenth century and inspired many of the finest cabinetmakers in the late nineteenth century.
