This plate from the "Prussian Series" depicts a pioneer of the 7th Pioneer Detachment and a non-commissioned officer of the 7th Artillery Brigade of the Royal Prussian Army. Created during the reign of Nicholas I by the Imperial Porcelain Factory, Saint Petersburg, the plate is dated 1831, and signed by V. Shchetinin, with a further inscription in German in black overglaze, reading: "7te Pionier Abtheilung. 7te Artillerie Brigade (Unterofficier.)". The source material for this plate comes from sheet 60 of the album "Das preussische Heer: herausgegeben und Sr. Majestät dem Könige Friedrich Wilhelm III." By Ludwig Elsholtz, Johann Karl Schultz, and Carl Rechlin, Published by L. Sachse & Co., Berlin, 1830.
