Regarded as the "Godfather of Graffiti," Chaz Bojorquez pioneered Chicano street art in Los Angeles beginning in 1969. Merging fine art training with the aesthetics of East L.A. graffiti, Bojorquez established the grammar and cultural symbolism of the "cholo" style. His work explores social identity, resistance, and the language of the streets, bridging graffiti's outlaw roots with the Chicano civil rights movement. Today, Bojorquez remains one of the most respected figures in urban art, representing graffiti as both historical and cultural legacy.
