Mine des Farges, Ussel, Corrèze, Limousin, France

The lovely contrast between orange portions of the gossan matrix and the bright green of the Pyromorphite has made specimens from this now-closed locality very desirable. Scattered irregularly over the brown and orange matrix are flat-topped prisms ranging in size from microscopic to around .25 inch (6.5mm) in length and breadth. Most of the hexagonal crystals possess flat terminations of matte luster, while the sides of the prisms are brilliantly lustrous. A few of the larger crystals show a "hopper" type of growth often seen in this mineral. There are a couple of crystals off to one side with minimal damage, else excellent condition.
Overall measurements: 6.5 x 5 x 1.5 inches (16.5 x 12.7 x 3.8 cm). Offered at no reserve.
