This unique offering is an Opal Sphere mined from the famed Ethiopian Opal mines. Normally, Opals are fashioned into cabochons, but this new style features a much-loved traditional shape. The 9-carat orb boasts intense play-of-color with a 360-degree polish and even shape. The 'fire' is seen as large, broad flash patterns with further sections of colorless honeycomb formations, creating a dynamic gem. All spectral colors are visible against the grayish white, translucent background and dance across the high-polished surface when moved and viewed. This is a very unique way to present this precious material. The sphere can be fashioned into a piece of custom jewelry or simply admired as is.
