This rock likely contains the popular mineral Fluorite and 'glows' a dark purplish-blue under shortwave ultraviolet light. The fluorescent is not bright like others but also represents a different material than a majority of collector pieces. The light and dark areas parallel the patches on this rock in everyday light.
