NOTE:
Four plaster maquettes comprise Manuel Neri's series titled Pecadoras I, Pecadoras II, Pecadoras III, and Pecadoras IV. Molds were taken from the plaster maquettes in 1998 and cast into bronze, and each maquette was produced in an edition of 4 casts and 2 artist's proofs. The bronze maquettes are titled Pecadoras Series I, Pecadoras Series II, Pecadoras Series III, and Pecadoras Series IV. The numbered casts and one of the artist's proofs from each series were patinated with the silver-nitrate patina by Don Rich Studio in Oakland, California, in 1999. The second artist's proof was sealed and had a cold patina of oil-based pigments with yellow wash applied by Mikhail Ovchinnikov, Art Conservation, San Jose, California, in 2001.

The title in Spanish roughly translates into English as "something irregular from the accepted norm, sinful" which the artist used to describe the scale of the maquettes which were larger than the usual scale of maquettes he used to translate the maquettes into marble. Of the Pecadoras maquettes, only two of the plaster maquettes were realized in marble: Pecadoras I was realized in the larger than life-size marble sculpture Aurelia No. 3 completed in 1995, and Pecadoras IV was used as the model for the life-size marble torso titled Ostrakon created in 2001-2002.

The four plaster maquettes were first presented in an exhibition at Charles Cowles Gallery, New York titled "Manuel Neri: Recent Work," December 1, 1998-January 9, 1999. All four maquettes were sold from the exhibition.

Casts of the bronze maquettes were presented in a series of gallery exhibitions: Galerie Simonne Stern, New Orleans, Louisiana, "Manuel Neri: Sculpture, February 6-March 2, 1999; Campbell-Thiebaud Gallery, Laguna Beach, California, "Manuel Neri: Sculpture & Drawings," September 11-October 16, 1999; Robischon Gallery, Denver, Colorado, "Manuel Neri," September 11-October 16, 1999; and Stremmel Gallery, Reno, Nevada, "Manuel Neri: Drawings and Sculpture," October 14-November 6, 1999.
