Description

Trilobite Fossil
Paradoxides sp.
Cambrian
Morocco
8.43 x 7.95 x 1.27 inches (21.40 x 20.20 x 3.22 cm)

This large and visually striking Trilobite fossil features Paradoxides, a classic species from the Middle Cambrian Period. Known for its broad cephalon, sweeping genal spines, and tightly segmented thorax, this specimen is preserved in rich ochre and umber tones within a substantial slab of shale matrix. Paradoxides is one of the most iconic genera from the Cambrian explosion, representing a time of rapid diversification in early marine life. With a body length that rivals many other Trilobites in the fossil record, this specimen commands attention both scientifically and aesthetically.
