The service with monogram MAD, the married initials of Marjorie Downey Knowlton's mother, Mildred Adams Downey. The set was a wedding gift from her brother-in-law, WWI US Army Captain George Faber Downey Jr., when she married Fairfax Davis Downey (the son of Mattie Davis Downey) in Washington, D.C. on October 19, 1918.

Condition Report*:
In good condition with minimal wear commensurate with age, use and polishing. The pie and cake server with an approximately 3/4" dent with subsequent scratch to proper right side of handle, as well as an approximately 1/2" scuff to the center of the blade surface.
