The tankard of tapering cylindrical form with gadrooned border at foot, the s-scroll handle with beaded drop and mask-form terminal, the hinged flat-dome cover gadrooned, with shaped flange and mask-form thumb rest.

Body engraved with a tablet shield argent a chevron sable between three rampant passant impaling an argent and gules paly of six on a chevron azure three botonny argent, and a crest of a griffin passant. An impaled coat of arms depicted a husband's crest on the left and a wife's coat of arms on the right. It could only be used during the period of the marriage, and was not passed down.

The mark is shown in Jackson for 1681, while the maker was not identified.
