Hand-colored platinum
7 x 9-1/4 inches (17.8 x 23.5 cm)
Each signed and titled in pencil, lower mount recto. In period brown folder with cloth ties.

Titles include: Library- California; California Hall-California; Hearst Memorial Mining Building - California; Phi Kappa Sigma - California; Phi Gamma Delta - California; Phi Delta Theta - California; Beta Theta Pi - California; Chi Psi -California; Zeta Psi - California; and Alpha Tau Omega - California.
In the spring of 1915 Strand took a cross-country trip photographing college and university campus buildings along the way which he then sold for $2.50 a print. By May 3rd he was in San Francisco and probably took these views of Berkeley at that time.

PROVENANCE:
Purchased from the artist by a student at the University of California, Berkeley, 1915 and by descent to the current owner.

Condition Report*: Not framed. Overall excellent condition. Phi Kappa Sigma: areas of slight staining to the sky. Phi Delta Theta: small area of staining to upper left corner. Mounts age-darkened. Folder worn and with small tears in the cloth spine and flaps.
