Among the most ubiquitous minerals on Earth, Quartz is only occasionally found to contain Rutile inclusions. In the case of Rutilated Quartz, the inclusions enhance, rather than detract, from the appeal and value of the specimen, creating a dynamic and sculptural appearance inside the host Quartz. This notable gemstone, weighing an impressive 235 carats, is a definitive example of Rutilated Smoky Quartz. The sizable stone features an attractive octagonal shape with sleek step-cut facets. The reddish Rutile inclusions are beautifully intertwined with a wispy horse-hair-like appearance, giving the stone an overall warm orangey brown bodycolor. The lovely stone is overall in great condition, with the exception that the faceting is a bit askew. This is simply one truly mesmerizing cut and faceted gemstone.
