Fred Haise Apollo 13 Astronaut Inscribed & Signed 11x14 Color Photo of the Moon

Astronaut Fred Haise is only one of 24 people to have flown to the Moon, but it is, without a doubt, his role in the 'successful failure' that was the Apollo 13 mission that cemented his reputation as a hero. A photographer by hobby, Haise chronicled the ill-fated trip in pictures, many of which have become critical to the collective memory of the historical event that captivated the world for one full week back in 1970. This amazing image offers a close-up, of sorts, of the rugged backside of the Moon's surface as taken by Lunar Module Pilot Haise as the crew coasted around the lunar satellite during the mission. The large, dramatic photograph shows part of the capsule and is inscribed by Haise, "A photo I took when coasting around the more rugged backside of the moon!" and signed as "Fred Haise, Apollo 13 LMP" in white ink. This was authenticated by Beckett Grading Services.
