Weighing over two kilograms (4.4 pounds), this fine, sharp, very robust, mostly gem Topaz crystal from the classic Mimoso do Sul district in Brazil has the symmetry typical of these old classics. It is a beautiful light seafoam-green with a glassy luster and is mainly transparent throughout with a cloudy area in the center. Overall, it is in great condition and undamaged where it counts, including the front display face, only with a shallow conchoidal ding on the backside and a shallow impression (contact plane) from another Topaz crystal on the bottom front. A fine and impressive specimen, as not so many Topaz crystals form such a distinct, textbook habit that characterizes this locality so well as this style. It has a robust color that is hard to define, and some may say it is a little more blue or a little more green, but it is a classic old style seldom seen today. Given the size, it makes a massive impact visually, standing straight up in a case. The fine example comes with a custom engraved lucite base.
