Sir Edmund Hillary Signed High Adventure Book
Sir Edmund Hillary
High Adventure: Our Ascent of Everest

Legendary explorer, and in particular mountaineer, Sir Edmund Hillary was actually a New Zealand product most famous for having been the FIRST climber to reach the summit of Mount Everest with Sherpa Tenzing Norgay on May 29, 1953, shortly after which he was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II, on June 6, 1953. This hardcover with a dust jacket is entitled High Adventure, Our Ascent of Everest, with Sir Edmund Hillary as the author. The book is an authoritative, first-person account of the seminal achievement in mountaineering detailing the inaugural summiting of the highest point on the Earth. What makes this volume significant, and highly collectible, is that it is signed by Sir Edmund Hillary as "Ed Hillary" on the half-title page in black ink. Published in 1955, this work was reprinted in 2003 in honor of the 50th Anniversary of the historic climbing event. Beckett authenticated the autograph, which is evidenced by a sticker on the back of the half-title page. The book is in fine condition, with only minimal wear and compression visible on the corners. There is some residual adhesive on the front cover where a price tag was likely once affixed. This is one great offering with a famous signature.

New York: BCL Press, 2003. Signed in black ink by Ed Hillary on half-title page. [Attributes: Signed Copy; Hard Cover; In Dust Jacket; 5.75 x 8.5 inches; Beckett Authenticated].
