Description
Arsenian PyromorphitePresumed Bunker Hill Mine, Wardner, Shoshone County, Idaho, USA
5.1 x 2.8 x 2.2 cm (2.01 x 1.10 x 0.87 in)
Bunker Hill Pyromorphite is known more so than other Pyromorphite examples to exhibit unusual formations, either in crystal structure itself or how they are formed as an entire specimen. This one has formed as a single plane of druzy Pyromorphite that has curled in on itself, like a clam or cow's ear. The deep burnt orange color of the Pyromorphite comes from the arsenic present in the crystal structure: don't worry, it is very stable and safe to handle. The arsenic bearing composition is what makes Bunker Hill Pyromorphites so different from most others.
More Information: This specimen is in excellent condition.
