Framed Fossil Fish
Pachyrhizodus sp.
Late Cretaceous
Smoky Hill Chalk Member, Niobrara Formation
Kansas, USA

This impressive fossil fish, Pachyrhizodus sp., represents one of the classic species from the Cretaceous inland sea that once divided North America during the Age of Dinosaurs. The ancient Niobrara Formation preserves the remains of large predatory fishes that dominated these warm, shallow waters nearly 85 million years ago. The specimen exhibits excellent preservation, with much of the skeletal and fin structure intact, and has been expertly prepared and framed for wall display. The mounting is clean and reinforced on the reverse for secure hanging, making it ready for immediate exhibition. A striking and scientifically important specimen, offering both educational value and aesthetic presence-an impressive representation of marine life from the Late Cretaceous seaway of North America.
