This golden-reddish example of Dominican Amber is polished, warm, and wonderfully shaped. While the interior contains various inclusions and detritus, a singular large insect is readily visible in the center of a naturally fractured core. The 'star' of the ancient diorama is an uncommon praying mantis with features of its classic body design showcased, along with its elongated appendages in various positions. Segments of the creature are preserved, resulting in one highly collectible specimen. The example of fossilized tree resin weighs a robust 56 grams and contains a second good insect with outstanding preservation as well.
