This exquisitely beautiful piece of Dominican Amber offers a pleasing shape, outstanding polish, smooth texture, warm golden coloration, and exceptional clarity making the 7-gram example a superb specimen in its own right. However, the superlative piece of fossilized tree resin also serves as the perfect medium to showcase a singular insect inclusion - an uncommon Praying Mantis. The preserved arthropod is tops in terms of its condition, position and details. Under magnification, the solid 'silhouetted' form is artistic, naturally, and provides an outstanding example of this unique form of fossilization.
